Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery is located near Elwood, Illinois, just a few miles south of Joliet. The cemetery is a Blue Star Memorial and there are already numerous grave sites.

This cemetery became the 117th national cemetery within the Department of Veterans Affairs National Cemetery Administration on 03 October 1999. The website for the cemetery says "the 982-acre cemetery will provide 400,000 burial spaces" when it is fully developed.
