US Hwy-50 crosses the Continental Divide at Monarch Pass.

Due to time and rain, we drove east on US Hwy-50 non-stop 65 miles to Salida where we stopped for dinner. From Salida, we continued US Hwy-50 east another 60 scenic miles to Canan City. This stretch of US Hwy-50 hugs the Arkansas River. We arrived at Canon City at about 8:30pm after driving 318 miles.
