Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 8" square baking pan (I use an old pie tin), then dust it with unsweetened cocoa powder (instead of flour). Melt butter/margarine. Add cocoa and stir. Cool in refrigerator for a few moments. Then add sugars and egg and stir with a fork until well blended. Fold in dry ingredients, mixing thoroughly. Batter should be stiff, not at all soupy. Scrape out of mixing bowl and spread evenly into greased, cocoa-dusted, baking pan. Bake 25-30 minutes or until fork, knife, or toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Remove from oven (turn off oven), cool, cut, and serve (preferably on lace doilies). |
